Truly ¨Wonder¨ful

Well, we met one of our goals today. We were walking among the ruins of Machu Piccu ... one of the seven modern wonders of the world. Wow ... truly amazing. We awoke nice and early so we could make it to the top in time to see the sunrise, which worked quite well. There were a lot of other people, but we managed to find a comfortable spot and to see the sun come up. We then reunited with our original Inca Trail guide and new friends and walked through the entire site for a tour. We also went back later for an extra walk and some more pictures and site-seeing. We are both feeling a little bit tired and a whole lot overwhelmed right now, but it is totally worth it.

We will try to post some pictures soon. Tomorrow we are off to Lake Titicaca where we will certainly see more amazing things. We are both doing well, so no worries from any of you!

so, yes, I was surprised to see two postings. I didn't even look yesterday, even though Jane told me to, because you said you wouldn't be posting until Saturday.

Dawn on Machu Piccu and dawn on Kilamanjaro. WOW I'm sure you've seen dawn at other awesome spots as well. Do I remember you were "dawn"ing at the Taj?

I know Ken reminded you in his comment to take pictures. Somehow i don't think either of you would forget that. We are eager to hear and see more of your experiences.

I find it curious that you had internet accessibility while part way on the journey. Do you think M-P is becoming too full of tourists? While tourism is nice and great because you two got there, there must be some deterioation of the site due to many footfalls if nothing else.

Jenn, I am glad that you have Daniel with you on this adventure. While you have had many great experiences this one will stand out in that you two are sharing it together.

Dan, I'm wondering if you will now become more of a world traveler. This adventure could spur you in that direction.

The two of you have frun and don't terrorize the others.

Thinking of you both.Love you, MA

Yea - you guys got to see sunrise at Machu Pichu! Kathy, Rob, Mark and I were talking about you both while we lounged on the beach in Cozumel. Missed having you there with us, but are very envious of this adventure. Enjoy Lake Titicaca - it's beautiful and huge! I only spent a day there on my way to Puerto Arenas in Bolivia, but I loved it. On our way home through customs, the agent at the airport went on and on about how he wanted to go to Machu Pichu. We told him about your travels and he was envious too! Travel safely - we miss our NY roommates! Shari and Rob
